After installing
Three things, then it's out of your way
- 01
Say yes to two prompts
macOS asks for the microphone and for permission to type on your behalf. Windows and Linux don't ask for anything.
- 02
Pick your key
Press the key you want to hold, then hold it and say something. That one gesture proves the key and the mic both work.
- 03
Close the window
That's the whole setup. The app is one key from now on, and there's nothing left on screen.
On Linux, run an X11 or XWayland session. Wayland gives no app a way to watch a global key or type for you, so a global hotkey can't work there. There's also no tray icon on Linux — closing the window quits the app instead of hiding it.
